Start

Following on from the successful projects within the stadium. Revisionr was retained to act as design and procurement consultant for what was to be come the Markus Liebherr Pavilion. The redevelopment of Southampton FC's training facility in Staplewood.

While the building and pitch devcelopment was well underway, there was no interior design or realistic procurement package in place. The brief was to progress areas within the new training facility building and its environs. Working as liaison between the club and main contractor, Bouges. Revisionr was also tasked with designs for the first team and academy dining areas, auditorium, black-box room, external signage and changing rooms in addition to a full product procurement package for all areas.

The changes in dining would be dramtic.
The outside areas would be changed beyond recognition.

Process

The primary task was to create a series interior schemes for key areas, including the players' changing rooms, auditorium, reception, dining rooms for both first team and academy players, and all office spaces.

All designs needed to adhere to the constraints of the original architect's allocated spaces while incorporating interior fittings that complied with specific allowances set by the main contractor.

This quickly expanded to include any area of the building requiring design input, such as internal and external signage, custom joinery for lockers and the boot room and even a bespoke product for the first team players' parking spaces.

While the building's general lighting was enhanced with feature lights, alternative flooring solutions were negotiated with the main contractor, changing the original producs in the offices area and dining areas. Additionally, bespoke designs were requested for the technical "Blackbox" analysis room, the press conference auditorium platform, dining tables, TV/Radiator covers and each of the food servery counters.

The Pavilion was named after the late owner. Glowing letters pay homage.

Rivisionr's involvement in the project proved to be a sucessful solution for both the client and main contractor. Essentially being able to realsie the aspirations of one within the restrictions of the other, while allowing a critical voice for the staff in how each space functioned.

The academy players were not forgotten, although a slighl;y more playful environment for thier training lunches.
