Revisionr was approached via TCi GB to look at the feasibility of converting two tempoarary site offices into multi-use spaces acting as an apprentice work and training HUB.

The scheme was to be easily installed utilising some temporary site huts available elsewhere on site.

Interior of the temporary site hut
Details that would be covered with a simple and easy to isntall finishes.
Awkward support pillares need a solution to work in the layout.
The lighting could not be touched, so would need additional feture lights to draw the eye.
Acoutic lights and attached tables to a sofa allows multiple uses

Process

The spaces called for a mixture of hot desks, soft seated and formally enclosed meeting spaces with a reception and games area.

Providing a process of space planning with the end user along with ideas on simple surface treatment, allowed TCi GB to refit the space at minimal cost for the period of use.

The project was split into two phases with buildings moving between two different site locations on the edge of Hinkley Point C nuclear power station build site.

Semi private individual acoustic work areas.
Ceiling hung acoustic space dividers allow view through while providing and element of separation.
A simple open plan meeting area given a twist with bright red modern meeting chairs.
Small amounts of Biophilic elements help soften the space around concentration work areas.

Further advice and access to products was given to TCi who had a central procurement contract to the site.

This allowed furniture to follow the design creating the settings usuable for the wide cross section of users that would flow through EDF's apprentiship programmes.

Freestanding acoustic dividers also have their place, especially when rotated to enclose areas as required.
